comparing Restrepo to Fallen Angles

In Restrepo right away they get hit with a road side bomb out of nowhere so that kind of puts into perspective when in Fallen Angels they get attacked at their base how surprising it can be. Also seeing how much damage a mortar strike can do it makes it seem more scary in fallen angels with them being mortared. in the movie being in combat is described as like being on crack which is a high Perry experienced when he was in combat which gives it a little more realism to the statement. in Restrepo when the squad gets ambushed it is like when in fallen angels they get ambushed by the river how overwhelming it can be. also how the person freaks out under the tree after someone dies makes Perry's reaction to the guy's death in the beginning of the book. in restrepo all the guys are really happy when they get to go home just like the guys who were going home in fallen angels because they didn't have to live in constant fear any more. also in restrepo when they bomb the crap out of a mountain where there was believed to be Taliban they hit some villagers is like when in fallen angels Perry and his squad accidentally fires on alfa squad and hits some of them injuring or killing them. in restrepo they shoot of flares in remembrance of their fallen comrades which is kind of like how Perry never for gets his fallen comrades and imagined them getting on the plane home. also when they bomb the mountain side later the Taliban come out and ambushed them which is like fallen angels because when they bombed the enemy position they just climb out and are still unharmed. in restrepo you never really see who your're shooting at which is like in fallen angels when they are out in scouting missions and can't see what or who they are shooting at.
